Thanks for sharing. I can think of a couple reasons bur they'd all have to happen for the coin to be in this shape...

I am surprised that the bank allowed this one to be rolled. Usually bad coins and currency are removed from circulation when they are in real bad condition.

Poor quarter. Are you keeping it or returning it to the wild?

Trust me, I've seen far worse in bank rolls...They could do a MUCH better job sorting out the culls.

It looks like someone abused that coin
This coin reminded me of something, over here it illegal to willingly damage a coin , so my question is : is it the same the US ?
