Hello I am new here but have collected for a few years. redacted for member's protection I collect canadian coins and a little German but I am mainly working on canadian silver dollars and their varieties. I currently only need the 1948 and then its on to varieties . Any way I can't wait to learn from all the great people and share my own knowledge, I kinda wish spp Ottawa was still here but I know I will learn lots from all the great people here I can't wait. Sorry if I didn't post in the right spot as I was having trouble navigating the site. Feel free to call me Will.

A Millennium collector! WELCOME!! Those of us who are enthusiastic supporters of aiding younger collectors must be pleased to see you here. I am. Yes, navigating this site is the major weak point. SO much information that it is easy to get lost. Folks here will help you so do not worry. And if you miss post a thread, the moderators will put it in the correct topic.
That 1948 dollar is a major sore point among Canadian Dollar collectors. Someday you will have one.
So kick back and enjoy.

The 1948 is a hard one I know, this summer I got the 1945 silver dollar in ms 63. If any one remembers the ICCS 1945 with amber tones ms 63 that coin and currency sold...That's the one and it turns out it was a really strong 5\5 as well.

Welcome to the CCF, thedollarman!
While Canadian coins are not of major interest to me, I admire your initiative. That's a great set to assemble. Are there many varieties to be found therein? I once discovered an 1859/8 large cent, and a dealer paid me handsomely for it. I'll bet that there may well be some varieties awaiting your discovery ... Happy hunting!

Yes there are many many varieties. many of them unknown. In fact I have discovered a die clash variety in 1935 that is unknown.
