In the 18th and 19th centuries, a large number medals, in gold, silver and copper, were made in Spain and through-out the New World to proclaim new Spanish rulers.
Though my reference books are not at hand, I seem to remember that there were many for Charles III and Charles IIII, in particular.

This has always seemed a very interesting collecting area.

I am wondering if anyone here specializes in these?
