This seller is out of China it looks like and according to their page has sold a ton of silver bars... It is China and that makes me skeptical but does anyone have any history with this seller? Are they legit? http://www.ebay.com/usr/amyalong71712

If I was going to buy silver bars from an internet vendor, I'd keep it safe and buy from a nationally known, reputable vendor like APMEX, Provident, SilverTowne, Scottsdale, etc. An ebay vendor located in China represents a level of risk that I'm not willing to accept. They may or may not be legit, but I'm not willing to find out the hard way. If you're a daring sort and just have to go for it, be SURE to pay with a credit card via PayPal because at least you've hopefully got your "buyer protection" in place then. Paying via any other mode would be foolish.

You get what you pay for. If your interested in silver and can afford 100+ one ounce rounds, do yourself a favor and buy at Golden State Mint. The cost generally runs spot +1.50 or so. Other places are competitive so its a matter of cost plus spot. Some charge up for 2.50-3.00 extra an ounce, on average.
It doesn't matter who the seller is or where located. Some people finally end up getting caught and then, even so, there is very little recourse to the buyers in the past. There are many different ways to produce a less than genuine object, it depends how far and how well mastered that disguise is. A wide variety of fraud has been tried, some are successful, others are thwarted.

i would avoid the seller big time, all generic stuff, I believe it is all available on the alibaba web site. None of the items are major brands, so perhaps they feel like they are not counterfeiting, they just are not disclosing that items are layered in pure silver. I would read the feedbacks and run quickly..

I try not get into differing with suggestions offered by others, but... I need to throw out a thought here and I hope my doing so isn't taken as argumentative.
If you're going to get into stacking silver (which is an idea that many will rightfully debate the wisdom of), one time-honored guideline is the concept of dollar cost averaging. The concept is that of buying a given amount of PM's on a regular basis (monthly or whatever) over an extended period of time. If you do that (which may or may not be a good idea in today's market), you'll at least have done your buying at close to the mid-point of silver spot gyrations for the extended time period in question.
At any rate, I don't think stretching and bending yourself out of shape to make a major buy right now is the best of all possible ideas. But--do what you want and best of luck with it. Most importantly of all--do your own thinking, make your own decisions, arrive at your own conclusions and do what you yourself decide to do.

@Fat Freddy - thank you for your input and I agree with your strategy. I employ it myself and have a set budget each month and just slowly accumulate.

I wouldn't buy any silver product (bullion or jewelery) from an ebay seller in China. I won't even buy silver Panda's.

Everyone would assume that this seller has sold these silver bars for a long time while building up a reputable history. This account has been likely sold in the past to the new "silver" bar seller. Accounts with high feed-backs generally go for a couple thousand dollars in the black market. Also, the older an account is, the more it is worth. Don't go selling your account as there can be easily accessible personal information that could be put at risk.

i have bought form china before without any problems. I usually just try an email the seller and continue a converrsation about his product for many days before I pull the trigger. Normally the scammers get tired of dealing with you and stop replying. Someone who has a true product and wants the sale usually puts in the time.
