The 1911 is not the greatest strike I have seen, it is not bad either.

You have to remember these are large and detailed photos. The marks you see are barely noticable in hand.

As you view more coins and photos it will help to realize this.

A good way is to have some of your own coins professionaly photographed.

A coin you have looked at a million times will show something you never saw.

Dont compare it to the 12-S. This 12-s has a rare strike for the s mint. Better than many dates/mints known for strong strikes.
