I saw people on web sites selling roman hoard coins or uncleaned roman coins under dirt, in extremely worn and bad condition etc and decided to show this to people who didnt had a chance to really see how real hoard coins looks like... They dont have fat dirt on them or they are not hoard coins. They are in uncirculated condition and well preserved because they are in hoard. Can have hard encrustrations on them... If silvered antoniniani-they have complete silvering or at least most silvering preserved on them. See examples from my colection, I didnt cleaned them for purpose:

Amazing. Do you record your finds, or the coins you obtain?

Any straggling Gallic Empire coins turn up in that one?

Hoard coins dont come out of the ground so beautiful do they? A lot of people expect a pot of shiny bronze to come out of the ground, not the big green lump thats actually found.

No Gallic. And they are very hard to clean when stick on each other with some greenish and red oxidations...

Being that member Caesar381 is in Serbia I would be surprised if Gallic Empire coins turned up in large quantities there, being that Illyria / Moesia was not part of the Gallic Empire.

That is great, look after your history, because others will happily take the wealth of your heritage from you and not care.
