Couple of questions. Would anybody know what's on the surface of the 1963 penny?

Second question, on the '49 penny is the A pointing to the denticle? I

These are uncirculated coins that have been in a plastic container for over 30 years. Thanks so much in advance.

For the 1949, here's a diagnostic diagram taken from the Charest book (high profile is the AT version)

Yeah...sorry! I once had the good fortune of finding like 6 in a box of unsearched cents.
You can also eyeball the two types--the "high profile" of the portrait are noticeable too.
