Very nice! I applaud your efforts and dedication to a set that is definitely difficult to assemble.

I'm not a circulated commemorative collector, but am enjoying "the show" as those who do post images of their growing sets here on CCF. I look forward to watching you add to yours!

Came back to this thread to view the coins again ... truly an impressive effort to put together such a set of these difficult circulated examples of USA coinage history.

I recall your Lynchburg on the Bay ... was amazed when I noticed it ... alas the obverse rim cut precluded certification ... very pleased to learn that such a fine coin found a good home.

Your New Rochelle also catches my interest ... this coin is a 'stopper' for the set with only two examples ever certified by PCGS below AU.

Would enjoy viewing some individual photos of the New Rochelle when you have an opportunity.

Final thought ... and it comes alas with a question.

I notice that your Wayte Raymond collecting board does not include the 1893 Isabella Quarter nor the 1900 Lafayette Dollar.

Most collectors consider these two coins to be an essential part of the 50-coin classic silver commemorative set. They are both readily available in circulated grade.

Are you considering adding these to your set?

David

XF40--I too like to come back and look at your circ commems just like I like to look at the ones in the lowball registry set. You may want to consider starting a lowball registry set with the ones that you still have in PCGS graded holders.

Hi all -

sorry it took me a while to get those updated photos that David asked for. Here is the New Rochelle. This one is probably a high AU. You may not be able to see it that well in the photos but there is some rub on the high points, especially on the Reverse.

As for the registry set, it's probably something I'll consider down the road. Right now, I only have a few slabbed coins, and half of them are in NGC slabs. The bulk of my collection (beyond these commems) is raw as well, so I've never really gotten into the whole slabbing thing. yet.

Not Mint To Be - yes, I am. Cost may be a factor, as I just got my holiday xmas bills, but let me know if you have a lead. Thanks!

NMTB - system says I can't send an email. Not sure if it's because I'm a new user. My email should be on if you can send to me?

Hi All -

I haven't been too active lately, but I did get a new addition to my set about a month ago, and it's one of the tough ones - a Hudson!

This one is PCGS AU58 with a CAC sticker. A little brighter than I would like, but hard to find so I jumped on it. A VF35 came up on ebay last weekend that would have been perfect. I'm hoping one of you guys on here got that one. By the time I saw it, it was already sold

Excellent addition ... the Hudson is indeed a tremendous tough coin to find in circulated state.

Thrilled that you are still with us XF40 ... we enjoy all input and personally there are very few of us who are chasing this particular very difficult set.

Uhhhhmmm.. humbly suggest that you wait a few days and then perhaps check for updates in my long running thread.
