Seems like a simple one but I am unable to find it on Wildwinds.

Looks like the guy is going right with a staff leading a little kid behind him.

I think it needs a bit of soaking and brushing before I can ID it! Reverse could be Emperor dragging Captive...?

Thanks Pish, This is the best cleaned coin I have so far, wished it did not have that line across the emperor's face.

Pish, you're right on the reverse. It's an emperor dragging captive right. It's most likely Valens.

If it is Valens, it could be something like this:

If you can uncover the mint mark, might be able to narrow it down.

Yep, its emperor dragging captive (thats GLORIA ROMANORVM).

The scrape is very interesting...hit by a spade? Glanced by a plow? Perhaps, just maybe, this coin was a fouree and it was a test cut - and a successful one at that, and this is why it was discarded. But the continuity with the scrape in the legend make me think that its a spade hit.

Also, its Valentinian. I can read DN VA... but the legend is written too small and for too long for it to be Valens - the legend just has too much in it. The mintmark wont be legible I'm guessing, but the captive is engraved differently by each mint. By inspection, id label it as Valentinian I, GLORIA ROMANORVM. Check tesorillo and see if you can make out the captive in hand and compare him to the examples shown.

Pish That was one of the ones I narrowed it down too. I was looking at the arms at being at right angles

I don't think it would clean up any more than what it is without making it look polished. I'm leaning to the coin being Valentinian though.
