These were handed out as part of his campaign for president. This is one of three designs. Not to sure on how many were made though. Cool find!ii

This is one of three(I believe) campaign tokens issued in 1824 by Jackson. If memory serves this is one is a scarce variety. Very nice!

One of the three first US presidential campaign medals, from the 1824 election. Nice!

Quick paragraph as to why Jackson was considered to have restored "The Nations Pride",

Quote:
The highlight of Jackson's military career was his victory over British forces at the Battle of New Orleans in January 1815. The British suffered more than 2,000 casualties while the American sustained six killed and 10 wounded. This victory helped to restore the nation's pride following the embarrassing White House torching by the British and the government's ignominious flight. Jackson emerged a national hero

has now been identified
The variety is Sullivan/DeWitt AJACK 1824-5. "The Nation's Pride" varieties are a bit scarcer than the pieces with "The Nation's Good" or "Hero of New Orleans" on the reverse.

Nice find! I've been collecting these old campaign tokens, and that one is in nicer condition than my 1824 Jackson.
