I am interested in purchasing a couple of these and noticed that I can get them from a distributor like APMEX or directly from the mint. What's the difference between them? It appears the one from the mint has a mint mark and resells at a higher price (by quite a bit) on ebay. The others do not have a mint mark and sell for roughly $20 > spot. But what's the difference besides the mint mark? Is the APMEX version not a US Mint product? Also, when the mint publicizes the mintage figures...does that include the sales from the distributors or just the ones purchased directly from the mint? I'm really confused and was hoping someone can straighten me out.

There are the bullion version, you get from APMEX and other AP's or the satin finish UNC collector version you get from the mint.

Same as the Bullion and UNC versions of the Eagles.

The P-minted from 5oz coins generally have lower mintages and come with a COA and government packaging. The vapor/satin finish does give the P-pucks a refined appearance over the bullion version.

The P-minted pucks usually commands a higher premium over its bullion siblings, especially on ebay.

and if you sign up for a subscription with the US mint there is a 10% discount. Not a bad price (at least with current pricing)
