mrwiskers Pillar of the Community United States 1780 Posts	Posted 09/28/2024 5:08 pm I contacted the seller & respectfully suggested that it is just a damaged coin & that no mint mark meant that it was struck at the Philly mint, not to take my word, but for him to show or send pics to local dealer ... ...also suggested this site, for a free evaluation from knowledgeable people ... ...a lot of these instances are a result of an honest person who is just ignorant of the subject of errors ... ...I see this as an opportunity, if that person is truly interested in the subject, to steer them to this site for help ... in hopes of adding a newcomer who will be a future collector & contributor ... ...while we get a bit of a laugh, or a bit of groaning here, I suggest more of us contact sellers like this in hopes of recruiting members & collectors, while hopefully cleaning up some of eBays' junk ... ...thoughts"?....
