Pretty sure once those coins are in there, they are in there. Even if you try and crack them open, the coins will be stuck with that crap on them.
I guess you could try to burn it off... Fumes will probably give you cancer.

You'd have to burn it off in a special environment and make sure that the temperature is controlled, because if it gets too hot it could really start to cause damage and melt the coins.

I've read but not tried that dry ice (frozen CO2) gets the plastic cold enough to crack off. Wear gloves.

Some little boy read about the Indians using a bow drill to start a fire and tried it on that coin.

Another person taking the change from their pocket and sticking it on ebay for ridiculous prices! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Benjamin-...72459534873?It doesn't look uncirculated to me with those rim hits, there is a very poor photograph of the reverse and no picture of the obverse. This 'very rare' coin has a mintage of 5,300,000! I've just sold one of these for £1 (plus postage) to a collector in Germany. Edited by NumisRob
