Hi, Given the recent allegations made against the artist whose work was depicted on the coins in the artist series for the 2007 release, does stuff like this have an impact on the value of the coins?
The $10 gold proof sold initially for $175 and was fetching quite a good price, though would this still be the case?

I'm not sure if you are asking whether Rolf Harris being in the news will cause prices to go up or down.

It's likely that some dealers have tried to use the news to bring attention to the coins he designed and raise their asking prices, but I don't follow the Australian coin market to know to what extent this is true.

On the other hand, I would be surprised if a notable number of collectors would suddenly begin to shun his coins thereby reducing demand and pushing prices lower.

In the long-term, I doubt the allegations will have much of an impact either way. Other factors likely will drive its price one way or the other.

I pay little attention to a coin design artist. I suspect others would also pay more attention to the metal used and the subject of the design rather than who designed the coin.

I am not n Australia, so I have no idea what is in the news. However, coin designers, I suspect, do not work on commission, so why penalize a mint that has long ago produced the coins?

Hopefully this will one day change for you. There is much more to enjoy about one's collection when you take the time to study/learn the background details on each piece.
