I understand that Federick II of Prussia issued levantine thalers in 1766 and 1767. It would be of great assistance if someone could post a picture of one.

You mean thalers that say Prussia, but show Maria Theresa? Never heard of such a thing and would be curious to see one as well.

No, Prussian taler coins to be used in the Levante trade. Guess that Friedrich thought they could circulate along, or even compete, with the Austrian MTT coins. Here is one ... not mine of course. :)

Thanks Christian that helps a great deal..I'll probably get the book but not the coin many of the dollar sized coins produced for the levant ( excluding the MTT and Luigino) are very expensive beasties!!
