I was telling a coworker about this note today, and suddenly he says to me "You mean those (solids) are worth something? I've had one in my wallet for 25 years". Naturally, I'm expecting that he didn't understand the concept, but he pulls out a 1973 series $1 bill with serial number AAE1111111. Are you kidding me - apparently I'm the only person around who doesn't have one of these sitting around, and I actually look for them!

The note is beat up, it was folded in 4 in his wallet, the corners are folded over, and it's got about 5 minor tears along the edges. From my reading, it's either G or VG. What do you guys think this should fetch?

An unc 1974 solid graded notes are around a 1000.00 at the TCNC sale, it gives you idea what a folded note will be worth.

Tough to say what it would sell for in such a low grade. Most Solid Radar Collectors prefer Unc, and sometimes AU. However, being in bad condition is also a plus for people who can't afford one in Unc condition.

I would guess $125-$175
