Hey All,

A friend of mine recently got into collecting. He's a novice, and often asks me the best ways to find valuable stuff in circulation. I've told him a few things to look for, but not to expect to find anything of tremendous value. I mentioned that he could always go take bills out of the ATM and see if any interesting serial numbers are in there. Lo and behold, he takes $200 in $20s out of the ATM the first time, and finds a solid!

My grading skills for paper aren't good. This note is circulated, and I took the photos to emphasize the crease(s) in the middle. There's no tears, and the corners look near perfect to me.

I will be listing this on ebay tomorrow night (unless anyone on here wants to make a deal before that), but what grade should I advertise it as, and what should he expect it to fetch ($400 - $500 seems to be the ballpark?)

Thanks!

Hard to pinpoint an exact grade, but you should be safe saying VF/EF.

$400-$500 seems like a reasonable price.

$400-500 really? There are collectors that are willing to pay that much? Please update us with your auction results when it completes.

Most likely in the lower part of the range, but yes.

Thanks for the input. When I put it on, I'll call it VF+. I'll link to it in case anyone is interested.

Has anyone seen a polymer solid as of yet?

I'm surprised by how quickly this note has reached $350. I don't think it's going to go for more than I originally expected, but I'm wondering if it's getting so much response based on it being the first up for auction. I did a bit of looking around on ebay and a couple auction sites and haven't seen any as of yet.
