Hey guys, I recently purchased some 1oz pamp suisse bars and the left bar looks kinda strange to me... Can this be fake? Because I just purchased 3 of these at the store. Let me know what you all think. I can post more pictures if you have any questions.

The one on the right the serial number is etched. And the left is a little different.

If I were suspicious, I would have it XRF'ed. Can't pick them from the pictures, but I am no expert on these.

If you bought them from a reputable seller then there's little to worry about. They look fine to me. You could always weight them and subtract for the packaging. Also, Pamp might have a serial number verification on their website.

Check the cert #. If your really worried...ask the seller/dealer to exchange? Idk it may make you feel better. If It's genuine that shouldn't be a problem for the seller.

A bullion dealer should have an ultrasonic testing instrument to find if it has a tungsten core. Industrial X rays are good for finding for a tungsten core as well.

This is my take on in. Bar to the right serial number is stamped into the bar and cert.# along with finesse and weight markings are somewhat blurred this to me is a indication of a bar that Pamp refined sometime ago hence the ink leaching into the assay card along with the old time metal die stamping into the bar itself as aposted to the modern use of laser etching into the bar to the left.Bar left new design, bar right old design. I believe you have two genuine Pamp Suisse 1 oz. gold bars. But if you are still troubled and need peace of mind find a precious metals dealer that has a Sigma Metalytics "Precious Metal Verifier". I have used such a device and has worked swimmingly. I have provided you a link below so you can do some of your own due diligence and get the answers you seek. Hope this helps. http://www.coinworld.com/news/sigma...metals.html#

The 'precious metal verifier' seems to based on magnetic resonance, a similar principle used for medical investigations in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Know what you're buying. Drill a hole in it and test the flakes with 22K acid. Sealed stuff is funny. Stuff like this makes me rethink why people in invest in physical things if they don't know what they even are. I have to second the supplier comment: get a good source for your gold - that is KEY.
