Looks overstruck - two half figures overstruck onto the back of an M, perhaps a flipover double strike. Id label it 'Large M' and be done with it...try opening Helvetica's spreadsheet. Its ridiculous.

how about constans ii? he has several coins in bad shape that are rectagularish in shape.

like this one from wildwinds maybe?
