Hi guys,

I've had this note for a while and I've never been able to find out any information about it.

I was wondering if anyone knew about this note?

As you can see its a uniface note with the date 1816:

Thanks!

According to Haxby this bank was in operation from 1806-1865 and later became the National Mechanics' Bank of Baltimore. Based on Haxby's 1988 prices it does appear to be scarce and I would take a guess on its value at possibly $100-$200 to a Maryland collector. The book "Money & Banking in Maryland" has a rarity scale I believe, it is available from the Maryland Historical Society for $65.

Thanks for the information and welcome to the forum! I was struggling to find a solid reference. Thats excellent I had no idea what it would be worth, strange to think the note now lives in Oz.
