As times change and the challenges that each of us collectors face become more daunting, I feel as though it is time to thin the heard. Having collected ancient coins for a long while, there is a a long list of pieces that I would love to own that I do not, and might never will. As the cost of living goes up and financial challenges remain both numerous and unrelenting, it is time for me to sacrifice to the beast of collecting. In order for me to procure more of the coins I want I must liquidate the extras or the coins I have thoroughly enjoyed. We all know there are numerous avenues to sell and buy coins, I thought there is no better way then to offer coins to friends before listing them publicly. If someone is interested in acquiring pieces shoot me a line, tell me what you might want, and I can tell you what I might have. I am in the process of upgrading existing coins and narrowing my collecting to a few types from each ancient(ish) empire. Let me know what ya'll think...

I am interested in that, not got anything specific in mind as to what I would like, maybe a nice early Greek or something along those lines. I have one of the Attica owl's but I want something different, I will have a flick through Sears and see what catches my fancy.

Excellent path to follow 'Noob'. As I have mentioned before twice in my life I placed my entire collection before me and divided it in half by quantity not quality. I took the half I could not live without and sold the half I felt was weighing down my options. While I deeply regret many of the coins I let go ....... many of the AE's you like to drool over were acquired with the proceeds.
