today I got $40.00 from the bank and asked for 4 $10's
they are brand new and consecutive. I was figuring they were worth just face, but its a shame to spend such notes.

No value over face unless they are star notes or one of the serial numbers is collectible (radar number, etc.).

I wish you had said something different, I have some 1987 $1 bills that are sequential and they are in ... (I'm not good with bank note terms) Crisp Uncirculated? is that the right term for a wow factor of 11 out of 10. I think they are 1987, and I don't know if there are any radars or stars but even an older note like that being in sequence is not a bonus in any way?

Edit: spelling

Probably 1985 or 1988 for the $1 ASLAN, which is not that old for collectors. These types of notes would take something dramatic(extremely low serial, error, etc) to have a decent value.

ASLAN, would it be safe to assume you have series 1985 notes if they were actually printed in 1987? As Matt said they probably wont command much if they are an ordinary bill. But if they are new and in sequence I'd be interested in 10 for $11, for example. based on those two qualities alone.

No radars but some interesting numbers and they are all in crisp uncirculated condition. Like I said I have no clue on bills, any good numbers there?

You could try offering those ones for sale on wheresgeorge.com in the Numismatic/Bill Collecting Forum. Especially if they're crisp, I'm sure they would all sell over face.

Those forums can be found here: http://forums.wheresgeorge.com/foru...-Numismatics

You'll likely get bids from those who are looking to receive hits (on the tracking portion of the site) on those denominations/series that haven't received any yet. Some folks there have goals of filling in charts. Other than that I'm not seeing anything that stands out as far as numbers go.

Hi ASLAN, I see you have your messages turned off but I did share these with a friend of mine who would be interested in the lot at a respectable offer. I won't post numbers on the thread but let me know if there is a way to further discuss.
