I received my 2014 W MS70 from NGC today. This is a NGC early release with the West Point mint label.

My question is, there is no mint mark on the coin at all. Is this a labeling error and not really a west point coin? Or maybe a west point count without mint mark? Any insight would be appreciated.

No bullion coins have a mint mark. When the TPG's designate a mint mark, it is because the coins get sent to them in a sealed Monster box from the mint. The box is labeled with the producing mint on the strap that seals the box.

The label should have the W like (W). The parentheses indicate that it is a bullion coin from West Point and not a UNC or Burnished coin from West Point.

Once the mint seal is broken, the bullion coins are no longer able to be disinguished from each other and can no longer be labeled with a producing Mint. Eagles are produced in West Point and San Francisco.

Is it a listed as a 2014-(W)? (W in parenthesis)?

If so, there is no error. Bullion Silver Eagles do not have mintmarks. From 1986 to 1998, they were minted at San Francisco. From 1999 to 2000, they were minted at Philadelphia and West Point. Since 2001, they have been minted only at West Point along with San Francisco supplementing the production.
