Found this while searching over my Buffalo's before they go to ebay. So glad I searched over. Bidding starts at 100. *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***Edited by solotime 02/05/2014 01:52 am

I am at a huge loss here. I am no expert, but isn't the three legged variety from 1937? And I count four legs in your pictures. I would like to learn more so I can go through my coins as well. Please explain to me why, as you state it is rare and worth $100?

Looks like damage to me. The true 3 legged were from 1936 and 1937 both from Denver

It's lamination I think. The back leg looks like it was attacked by an Indian and is almost broke off. In the real world, it might be worth 5 dollars. I was just posting for fun.

Your humor came off a bit too dead-pan. Fooled me into thinking you were being serious

The reason it can't be PMD is because you can put your finger nail inside the hole. And no tooling marks or welder. But I can be wrong. When I found it, I thought it was cool.

I don't think he's mad. Just saying I wasn't that funny. He's right though.

Also, the pictures don't really do the job. It looks a little better in hands. The color is off and the leg looks kind of different. It has some dirt inside the hole I believe. Here's just something I thought. Since it's lamination and the leg is almost broke off, wouldn't it be called a three and a half legger? Now I don't mean to compare this with any of those high value ones but this might be cool to people who collect stuff like this. I just want to know because I was thinking of listing it on ebay for fun. If it sells for a few dollars, I don't loose no money. I paid about 15 cents for it. It's acid restored for the date.

Good one, had me fooled. I do not know much about Buffs and was wondering how I wound up appearing to know more than you .
