Just wondering what's going on with the 1939 penny around the King's mouth and whether the weak 'N' in the 1919 is an error in strike. Thoughts? Thanks.

The '39 looks like is has a blank lamination defect, which seems to be quite scarce, for bronze Aussies contemporary with this one.
The lamination is usually the result of localized impurities in the blanking strip.

The weak lettering on the Blakemore reverses for
ONE PENNY and ONE HALF PENNY are a bit easier to find.
The reverse circumferential legends for these do not seem to suffer from this weakness, as exampled here.

Thanks sel. I inherited a lot of half pennies and pennies including 3 sets of 1961 proof penny and half penny. Out of curiosity what would the value be for the '39? Ballpark. Also, what is the market like for pre-decimal half pennies. I have more than a few 1942 and 1944. Sorry for all the questions. Thanks in advance.

Kafka:
The '39 'roo rev. is scarcer than the '39 Blakemore reverse halfpenny. Mintages 'roo: 780,000, Blakemore: 4.7 million.
Grade of yours: VF, cat value about $5 U.S.

The '61 proofs came from the Perth Mint.
Only 1,040 pairs were struck. Today, they cstalog at around $2,000 a pair. That's for perfect coins, without black spots.
Because of the commonly met storage conditions over the last 50 years, perfect Perth Mint proof bronze coins are very difficult to find.

Thanks Sel. You're right about the storage issue on the '61. Mine had been in plastic for over 30 years. Here're pics of one of my sets.
