A nearby store is selling a variety of $20 for $20 coins for $30. Normally I would get mad at them, but I remember that some of the old issues have appreciated in value. Are any of them worth $30?

2011 Canoe $20 with full packaging unopened - also could be worth $30.

But it personal choice. I will buy not them for $20, just because do not need additional same coins.

Book value (Charlton 2014 Vol 2) for all of them up to 2013 wolf is $30 for SP66 and $35 for SP67. But as the others have already said, it's really only the first 2 that trade around that value. The rest go in the $20-$25 range.

p.s. Also remember that the mint didn't sell these to dealers at a discount as they do with the regular NCLT. So dealers had to sell them above face value just to cover their costs.

Sold mine for $30. Wanted $38. Still made a profit. I felt that these coins were getting hot so I dumped it while I still could. Remember the 1976 Olympic coins - you're not a coin shop if you don't have at least 2 of these sets collecting dust.

Do they have bullion value?

No, sure they have, but it just $20 coin, like a $20 banknote....

The finish is quite startling when compared to regular bullion. I don't know why people have this obsession with "scrap" and "melting"; there are processes involved that make something worth more than the sum of its parts.

They ( RCM) can mint any dollar amount on the face of the coin that they want and it means very little. The buyer finalizes the price. I think what the mint should do is offer coins with a high $ on the face and the customer pays BELOW that face value. We can't pretend like we can spend our NCLT, so offering coins in this way would spark new collectors, wouldn't it? A "$50" collector coin for $40. It's not like it will ever have anywhere near the same amount in PM or they would lose money, but minting some phony number on the coin costs them nothing. They could've called this series the $10 for $10 or whatever else and the coin would've been essentially the same. It wasn't the mint that decided some are worth more than the issue price and others are not.
Rest in Peace

I have similar feelings to Libertad - but think it should be based on silver or gold content. Eg. if they have stuck to the $20 series being a one ounce coin, then a two ounce coin should have a $40 face value, and a 1/2 ounce should be $10. That would put the 5 ounce coins at $100 and not $50 as it is now. Whatever they decide, they should stick to it. That would put the face value of the 20/4/20 coins at only $5 - as should have been the case with the 'Spider & Web' also a 1/4 ounce of silver, but it has a face value of only $3.00. Either way, I think a consistency on face value vs content should have been established years ago.

Silveroid, they are 1/4 of silver. And they are not accepted currency. They can only be traded for face value towards purchases at mint boutiques.

You right, Anjohl, but I still look at the face value here.
I believe, with the fact that you ready to pay for it as per silver spot, you will not sell the single coin under $20...
