Interested in if there is any storage problems with silver coins with colour images on them.

I live in a sub tropical climate, on a water front that has a salt wind.

I can not store stamps for long periods of time in this climate. No matter what angle I come from. Our climate control is to open a window!

Hoping all will be good! kg5

It seems to me that in your case, air tight capsules could be the way to go. Unfortunately if you need a lot of them, you are forced to re think how you present your collection.

The other alternative is to consider archival quality NON PVC (polypropylene) album pages, with the coins in Mylar / cardboard flips. This strategy has worked well for me.
PVC album pages are definitely "out" for you.

Can you turn a room into a walk-in humidor? I'm not joking, if you can't make the whole house a coin friendly environment then why not just one room?

If not a whole room then maybe a few airtight containers with desiccants (the keep dry packets in shipping) that might be a bad idea thou, the chemicals in them might mess with the coins.

Over the last 15+ years I have experimented with storing stamps on & off paper in our climate. To make bulk stamps air tight for 3 to 5 years makes them smell really fowl.

Selica Gel works but if you miss a drying time for the gel you end up in a worse position than leaving the stamps in the open elements.

There is one room in my house that the humidity does not affect. It has very little air flow, cooks in the western sun & the windows are covered in with ply wood. It is my UV long wave light room. Because of the no air flow it is not good to store stamps in but it just might be the air tight, type of room I need & to use an air tight plastic might be to go for me.

But sel_69l comment worries me when it comes to the plastic tub. But if I use the right album inside the unknown (what is made) of plastic tub it might not be a worry.

Actually, the binders and slip cases in which my album pages live are also made of polypropylene.
They are stored in an old suitcase.
