Looks wise what is the difference between
a token struck with rusted died and
a token with light corrosion?

The colour of the questionable area. Rust pits on a die mimic devices.
The medal of the planchet endeavours to sate all recesses. The raised
spots are of the same medal as the planchet. Whereas, rust spots are
normally of a different colour, and some pealing or scaling is normally
visible. Rust spots will create a cavity in the planchet if left untreated.
