Hi folks! I received my Bison yesterday and it's absolutely stunning! As new member CJ33 mentioned on the February 2014 Releases thread, the head of the Bison is frosted on a mirrored background. However the eyes are not frosted at all. When you view the coin from different angles the eyes appear very shiny and immediately grab your attention. Here are some photos of mine and you can judge for yourselves. The last photo really shows the effect:

Nice pictures NuMoosematist! You were able to capture those eyes in a way that makes the bison come to life.

The coin definitely looks better in person than on the RCM website.

Any idea what the next coins in the tatanka series will look like? BTW Moose, be sure to check for missing edge lettering.

Thanks for the compliments everyone! I'm glad you like the coin. Thanks CC for reminding me to check for the lettering on the edge, which I had plumb forgot about. Well I did and it's there in both official languages. Oh well... I hope the next designs in the series will be good too.

Attractive coin - your photos certainly do make the eyes "pop!"
Hope the rest of the series is to your liking as well.

Newbie here.
Where do you get one? .999 fine? Cost? This might be my first Canada coin ... except for my old junk silver coins.
Thanks.

@Domain555: Welcome to Canadian NCLT! Be carefull not to buy a "new silver junk" - meaning, that they actually nice and good coins, but when too many without the theme, they will be just as a silver junk... I do not see the coin on RCM first page, assuming it "Awaiting Stock" / sold-out, so here the URL to the Gatewest - limited stock http://store.gatewestcoin.com/cgi/v...91R98Y81k45DSince I will not buy all 4 coins of the series, will wait to the best one (I think I will like the third coin).

But they were "silver."
