I was under the impression that only Spain used the peseta denomination, but I can't seem to find this one. No date and only lettering I peseta on the reverse and 1P on the obverse, Appears to be copper/nickel.

No country = not a coin. Looks like a Spanish token - maybe it's a provisional issue from the Civil War, maybe it's just a cheap arcade token.

Something quite similar in a 2P denomination popped up recently, & someone suggested it was a gambling token of some sort.

Definitely a casino token, even has the lucky horseshoe around the "1"

Your Peseta coin/token could be from Spain but also from Equatorial Guinea, Peru or Western Sahara!
