Anybody besides me (well I'm sure there are others!) take note of this nice 1796 No Stars that sold yesterday on Great Collections? Nice XF45 PCGS coin, looks pretty dadgum nice from the photos.

I hope a buddy of mine got it!

First-year type, one-year type, one of our favorite coins!

Y'all enjoy now!

I *really* like Great Collections' imagery - they capture the look of their offerings quite nicely without losing detail. How does this price relate to market?

Hard to say, but I think it's pretty much in line, strong price for a nice, problem-free coin. Coins of this caliber don't trade publicly that often. Last XF45 PCGS that I can find was a Goldbergs auction nearly five years ago, piece brought $77,625. An AU50 PCGS in a Stack's auction brought $97,750 in 2010. They aren't making any more of these and I don't see them getting any cheaper as the years roll on.

You can find another image if you look up the Cert # at PCGS, I like it even better.

Best Regards,

George

Just as an aside, I had to click on your store link, and I now regret it. You've got some ridiculous stuff there and I'd go broke in a flat second if I allowed myself.

And Todd is the goal any aspiring coin photographer aspires to.

Thank you! I appreciate your comments, and I also welcome any comments about our website. What do you think?

Regarding the 1796 No Stars, yay, yay, it WAS a friend of mine who won that coin with strong bidding! I think it was a fair price for a GREAT coin! So that makes me really happy for him!

Best Regards,

George
