Picked up several hundred worth of various hand-rolled quarters to search last Friday. Some of these must have come from a very organized individual's dump, because among other rolls, I found two rolls that were only 1966 quarters. All circulated. Any reason to save these?

As circulated coins, there is no reason to save them.

i would differ on this. I save all the 1966 until I go through and check for the DDR on 1966's. This variety is worth hundreds of dollars. I save enough to fill a tube. I do the same on 1965,68D,69D,70D,71D and 76D. I just find its easier to check them 40 at a time instead here and there when they come my way.

I am working on a roll of each from 65-67, just because they have no mint marks as those years did not allow mintmarks to be placed. just an oddity to have.

maybe you can collect pennies rolls from 1976 through 1986 with no mint marks too..they didn't put mint mark on the ones made at either Phil, West Point and San Fran. and no way to tell the difference from which mint. The San Fran run ran from 1978 through 1983 with approx. total mintage over 4 billion

the mint did make a small amount of circulated quarters coined at West Point in the late 70's too

I've done the same out of sheer boredom before. Saved up 10 rolls of 1964 nickels, labeled them with sharpie, and then spent them to see if I could turn a few heads. Unless you managed to score 40 1966 DDR quarters, this was the product of someone with too much time on their hands.
