Hey everyone after hearing of auction houses using PVC flips I decided to go through the cabinet containing my coin collection and found an old downies flip stuck to a 2x2 and my centenary florin in the status international flip inside a loose bit of paper ( one the flip comes stuck on) with three edlins flips around 10 cms away. What worries me is they were 5 or so centimetres from my pcgs blue box containing a number of my valuable coins which I would occasionally look at outside the blue box a few centimetres outside the cabinet for a number of minutes with the cabinet door open and from what I have heard is the slabs allow gasses in.

So just kinda need some reassurance on wether it would have affected them from when I started collecting pcgs coins around september last year? Downies one was from 2 years ago and didn't know it was pvc so just need to know how dangerous PVC would be in an enclosed 30x40x60 space to my pcgs coins?

Sorry and thanks everyone just really really really worried at the moment I really like my coins and would absolutely hate for them to be ruined by silly PVC

If I am being silly worrying over nothing please tell me lol

I won't allow PVC in my office at all.
Anytime I do get a coin either from RAM or elsewhere that has PVC in the packaging it gets removed and destroyed ASAP

For PVC to damage coins, it pretty much has to be either in physical contact with the coins, physical contact with the plastic holder containing the coins, or completely surrounding a coin (such as a raw coin placed into a PVC flip or album page). A small piece of PVC sitting on one side of a safe isn't going to harm a coin sitting on the other side of the safe, especially if the coin is in a slab or even in a 2x2.
