I found this quarter in a till at my work and I've never seen anything like it. The images are very faint on both sides but the serrations on the sides don't look very worn at all. On the obverse you can see an imprint of the caribou under the queen. Also all the black spots look likes the coin is corroding? What is going on with this coin?

Unfortunately I don't have access to a scale :( it feels about the right weight? Though that means very little in small differences

If your local PO staff are pleasant they may weigh it for you.
Does the coin appear thinner than normal and are the edges consistent with a normal quarter?

Edges seem the same as does the thickness, although that's just looking with my naked eye.

I've seen rust on quarters before..https://goccf.com/t/153022&SearchTe...ckeyed,queen
I dont know for sure but I dont think thats the head of the Cariboo on the obverse just a severly worn out die.

Your right DBM I knew that. It was .99 minimum purity, wondered if it was a little less than min. in that batch, thats all.
Nice link to the clashes, but all of them show the antler directly above the nose and this coin has none.
Everyone knows I'm no pro but is it possible to be a grease ghost of the Cariboo and die crud build up are the black spots? total guess

Looks like a Dryer Coin in the earlier stages or maybe a lot of grease in a die.
