Hello to all, First time on here , so bear with me and I hope I can get the images on also.
I have found a 1950 Canada silver dollar and the tops of the 2 trees that are behind the voyageur canoe are almost non-existent. With a loupe you can still make out an outline of the missing trees. Would this be from grease getting onto the presses during the coins stamping? This isn't from wear, with the loupe you can see the tiny pits in the metal where the trees are, and it extends down to the voyageur's head. I think I saw this with other coins and they attributed it to grease. Has anyone ever seen a dollar with this before?
