A short series, spanning 5 years (1994-1998 inclusive), denominated as 1 suverena (1 sovereign). Besides these base-metal issues, there are also (although seemingly rare) 1 suverenas in silver and also several fractional denominations in gold. These pieces are considered NCLT, issued by the Pobjoy Mint.

It is interesting to note that the Mostar Bridge (built in 1566), pictured on the obverse, was destroyed in 1992 (well before the issue of these coins) by Croatian forces during the civil war that ravaged Bosnia. It was re-built and re-opened in 2004, using much of the original stones recovered from the Neretva River, but re-inforced with modern technology.

As a footnote, you may notice the different legend on the 1998 issue, which was in compliance with the Dayton Accords, which recognized the state as strictly "Bosnia & Herzegovina", leaning more to the acknowledgement of BiH as a federation rather than a republic.

What are darksides?

...Ok I read that one up...I don't call them darksides though because I have many more of them than my home country - I prefer foreign than home coins.

Thanks Kuhli for the original topic, where did the horsey idea come from anyway?
