Most early Israeli coins are demonetized and common enough to be really boring. But I had to spend $9 on this set just because of the cool presentation and the date. (my camera had some kind of colour balance issue) Soon, I will get to pretend to be a representative of Israel for an upcoming debate event, so this is a fun and timely pickup. And 1967 is a big year in Israeli history - the Six-Day War was in June. Israel won it in a big way. If this set had been produced after the war, the packaging would have looked like this:
So, the set might be a cheapo item but the coins are nice and the date is more significant than most.
This is all the territory won by Israel after the Six-Day War in June 1967 - the Sinai Peninsula, the West Bank, the Gaza Strip and the Golan Heights. I drew it in digitally. I just wanted to show off why these 1967 coins interest me for more than one reason.
