Just looking for a little information about this coin. I picked it up the other day at an auction, it was mixed in with a grouping of silver coins (all were listed as silver) so I got a real good price for it purely based on the metal value. I've been searching the internet for mintage and value but not having much luck. I've seen mintages of 620 and 1500 so not sure which is right and can't find one being sold so not sure of it's current value. Any info is appreciated, thanks.

Charlton Vol. 2 (2013 edition) shows 682 sets but also 620 of the $30 coin individually.

Issue price in '95 was $1950 for the set and $179.95 for the individual $30 coin. FWIW, the listed 'value' is $200 for PR-67 and $225 for PR-68. PR-67 set listed as $3000.

Thanks for the replies.
I wasn't sure if it was only sold as a set or individually which may be why I was finding confusing mintage numbers. Those listed values aren't a whole lot above melt for a small mintage coin though. Guess just a case of demand. Going to sell it as it's not something that fits the collection anyways.

Hi there,

Was that the coin that sold for $200 US? It was a buy it now. I was wondering the same thing if it was sold individually or was part of a set.

No, I got this at a local auction. Still trying to find that out, just out of curiosity I guess.

Of the platinum wildlife series, individual 1/10oz and 1/2oz coins were sold for the years 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999. Complete sets were also issued for those years. So, to get total mintage numbers for the 1/10oz and 1/2oz coins you have to add up the individual coins as well as the sets sold.

If you still have the lynx coin I would be interested in it.
