I just picked up a box of quarters to search and for some concessions, etc. doing this weekend. To my surprise the entire $500 worth is new Idaho State Quarters. So they will be going out as change in my area starting Saturday.

Question is to search the rolls for errors or not.......

Madmartigan, your find, no doubt was a surprise. You were expecting what I got, a box full of circulated coins. In my box were two Idaho coins, one was a "P", and the other a "D". Sure went nice in my quarter album!

I picked up a box of quarters too last week and got a full box of Idaho D's. No errors though.

I was very disappointed with the box. Was going to offer to send anyone for cost a quarter or roll if they wish. However, after looking at 10 rolls or so I was shocked that 98% of the quarters had some type of blemish on them. I had taken photos of the box when opened it and could see the scratches and such on the top coins. Figured this was from the crimping machine or such. Nope, almost all of them had some type of mark, scratch, cleaning residue or something near the outline of the state or on the flip side of the coin. Only found 1 coin to keep out of $100 worth. Rest I just put back in the box to take back to the bank.

Plus my daughter was disapointed. She thought she had $500 worth of quarters to search for her state book.

Madmartigan, if you return coins to a change counter, open the rest of the rolls to at least look for major mint errors.
