Well, I purchased a Roman lot and these were in there: Any idea on country of origin or any other helpful information? They look like coins with the Devil on them tbh...

Depending on the size and weight the first one is either a Class A1 (about 7 grams) or a Class A2 (about 20 grams). Class A1 is attributed to the reign of John I 969-976, and the Class A2 is attributed to the reign of Basil II and Constantine VIII 976-1028. I can't make out enough detail on the second coin to attribute it.

I believe you have two coins here with 'spots' of bronze disease. The neon blue/green is "terminal" unless treated and your two portraits of Christ will go to the devil. Someone else here can advise you on treatment.
My favored technique is too radical for the faint of heart.

Off the cuff, I would suspect that the second coin is a class A1 minted in the late 9th early 10th centuries, probably under the aegis of John I, the first coin is a little later and probably a class A2 which was minted under several rulers in the mid 10th century, probably around the year 1000 AD.

Thanks to all of you :) The first coin is pretty heavy, near a Morgan silver dollar I'd say, so I appreciate you giving me the idea in grams because I can easily say now that it is a Class A2. The second one being much lighter; it is a shame they have that neon green, I had no idea there was such a thing as bronze disease. I am honestly shocked that these are portraits of Christ as even my girlfriend is scared of these coins after seeing them and thinking that looks like a skull with horns. Oops!
