Is the new Tiktaalik Dino coin the last in the series ? I don't remember how many were planned for this collection.

The RCM said there would be four coins in the series when it began. The current one would be the last if that holds.

I received it today. I like it but no comparison with the previous ones.

It's the last dino coin. Next year it will be Glow In The Dark pets.

I have a feeling that there will be a sub series of this coin. Meaning a new collection of glow in the dark coins. I think it would be neat if they did some constellation coins or something of that nature. I don't see them just stopping the glow in the dark coins. they had a good response with them. What do you think? Will we see additional glow in the dark coins from Canada?

I think I like the first coin the best. Just my opinion.

I also prefer the first one.
Glow-in-the-dark feature is nice, but the real innovation (and cool feature) here is that the GITD image is different than the colored one. And in this case, having a skeleton under the "skin" is a very very nice idea.
IMO, to be successful, the Mint has to think of something that is "more" than just having a colored image that glows in the dark.

Thanks for the link, shopaholic! I wonder if its discovery will cause more interest in the Pachyrhinosaurus GITD coin?

I hope the RCM continues the series. It's the only coins my kids want to collect.

my grandson was coming over this weekend so I made sure all four were charged up and ready to go. We had an a great evening looking at the glowing coins then we played the "money game " That what my grandson calls it. I keep a jar of quarters and when he comes over we dig out the painted ones and put them in 2x2's I don't know who has more fun him or me .... even though I "stock" the jar every week its still fun watching him find them, carefully put them in a 2x2, staple them and put them in the binder.

Falcon,
I agree, these coins are a great way to keep/increase the interest of new, young coin collectors! I ended up buying an additional set to give to my nephew to start his collection. He adores them.
