Found a ton of coins at my register today. 42 mercury, 44d wheat, 1887 nickel, but I also found this. Any ideas what it's worth?

Just a shade under $4 for melt value.

Would be nice to see a picture of the 1887 nickel as it is likely worth more than the quarter depending on grade.

Nice finds either way, congrats!

It is a 1917-24 "Type 2" quarter. From 1925-30, the date was recessed so it didn't immediately wear away like so many from 17-24. As mentioned above, it is worth no more than scrap.

Nice score.

Did all of the classics come from the same customer?
