Just a quickie. Is the 1883/2 the only recognized RPD Shield nickel? I have a different date RPD. Pretty obvious too. On opposite side of other date. I have books but are outdated and can't seem to find an up to date website either

No, there is also a 79/8. I believe the 78 is also an 8/7 but I don't think it is normally mentioned or listed because I believe all of them are overdates. At one time they listed a 69/8 but I think those have been reclassified as a 69/9. Now those are overdates like the 83/2. There are LOTS of RPD (repunched dates) in the series. In fact there probably isn't a single year in the series without business strikes that have RPD's.

Sweet thx Conder I figured with a series that is riddled with so many errors their had to be more RPD's

You do need to realize that a RPD is not the same as an overdate. RPD's are MUCH more commonly encountered. Also while the 78/7 and 79/8 are each just a single variety, the 83/2 is found on five different obv dies.

I picked up a 1869 RPD FS-1305 a couple months ago, with Conder, they (RPD's) are more abundant than overdates.
