augustus1 Pillar of the Community United States 549 Posts	Posted 02/24/2014 10:23 pm It is from the city of Tiberias/Tabariya (you can even read it in Greek in the legend from 10:30 downwards). It is from the "Jund of Jordan." Tiberias is in the 9:00 position on the Sea of Gallilee. Clive Foss, Arab-Byzantine Coins, #81. His photographed piece from Dumbarton Oaks is 21 mm and 3.75 grams. He calls them "common" and lists 20 archaeological site finds. He notes they are occasionally up to 30 mm but "there are many examples about half that size." Report this Post to the Staff
