Although he was there a few hundred years before this coin was struck, there's no doubt the elephant on the reverse is in tribute to that army. Apameia (Syria) was founded in 300 B.C., but it doesn't appear that it issued coinage before 150 B.C. There was somewhere in the range of 20-30 types of coins minted there, so there isn't much in terms of selection. I will be posting another Apameian (Phrygia) coin soon.
