2 rolls of quarters yield 11 ATB.

I use quarters for tolls etc.

Really did not NEED quarters today; but I was at the bank today, so I ask for (only) 2 rolls.

There was 11 ATB in the 80 coins.

All were (D) mint. Sad no (S) mint

One (1) looked MINT fresh, under a 10 power spy glass.

Question one -- Is that a high percentage yield for ATB in rolls?

Question two. What might be the (monetary) value in starting a collection? (or hoard)

I might add, that I am up to my wits end in dealing with my Ikes. Do I dump them or just put them in a jar, and see what else comes my way?

I've been running across more ATBs lately, I think that is pretty good amount there. I'm not sure they will ever be worth much in our lifetimes, but the designs are pretty nice and they look good in an album, so why not.

hehe, I'd say wait for a rainy day on the Ike's.. but there is a blizzard in most of the nation at the moment

Next week I'll do a ATB vs. State vs. 1965-1998 post, no rolls to work on now but in my experience the ATB are not all that rare, kinda like the Rare 2009's that I get all the time.

It's all down to poor distribution.

I'm missing 12 P mint marks, that's 2 from 2009 Territories, 2 from each year of 2010, 2011, 2012, and 4 from 2013. I have all the D mint's.

They are cool, they are neat... it's fun to work on a set but actually hoarding them... I keep saying they might be worth more than face in 200 years... and in 100 years I'll still be saying that

The only up side I see is the designs seem to be made to self destruct (massive fields just ready to scratch), so keeping a few sets in XF+ for trades might be a good idea.

Maybe post a pic of your mint one?
I'd be interested in seeing it.

I think the percentage of ATBs will depend on the area you live in. Some areas seem to get them all and lots of them while other areas don't seem to get many at all. I see about 10 in each roll I look through here in the Florida panhandle. We have not gotten all to the issues but most of them.

I'm sure I didn't make my self clear.

I meant to say just dump the quarters.

When ever I heard 'wits end dealing with you kids' while growing up I knew I was in trouble and in danger of being more than dumped

Which ones are you missing? I have an overabundance of P coins, being a Massachusetts person.

Also make sure to review the rules, no sell or trade for the first 90 days (which I'm still in) and must have 250 posts, which you don't.

Well...

In another post, I spoke of flipping 800 Ikes, this week.

Got fresh bag

saved what I needed

Flipped 800 to my LCD

...I was offered 2 more bags and it was pay up, or loose them.

Little short on cash ... so I flipped.

There was some BU I hated to let go.
