Today is 'Old Stuff Day' and we're wondering about yours! Tell us about the oldest coin in your collection - what is it? where did you find it? who gave it to you?

One of the oldest coins in The Royal Mint Museum is the Monogram Penny of Alfred The Great (871-899) http://www.royalmintmuseum.org.uk/c...y/index.html

Well the oldest coin in my collection is a bronze follis of Licinius I (c. 324 A.D.) but the oldest English coin I have is an Edward I silver penny Bristol Mint (c. 1300 A.D.)

Kind of a cop-out post but I don't have good picture or good info on all of them either

I thought jcmworld said 970 on one of the oriental, then it seems he changed his mind and set it later but that might have been the other coins, I never did ask for clarification because I'm still working on water soaks and light cleaning, and better pictures...

I got them from a bulk load last year, and need to put in a ton of work on my camera set up, maybe after the blizzard is done, but here are the links to the oldest I have

Ancient Chinese coins, What are they?

again sorry about the picture quality

Edit: see...Royal-Mint-Says-Today-Is-'Old-Stuff-Day'...
