My family keeps a big pickle jar that we fill with change. I went through several pennies today and found these. This was my first time searching for WAMs, so I was pretty excited even though it is in terrible shape.

2000 WAM LMC

Are you sure the 73s is a proof, and how can you tell?

Now that you say that, it may not be a proof. I thought that all S minted cents after 1972 were proofs but its all S minted cents after 1974...

Opps, phooey. I have quite a few that look VERY good of 68s-74s and was hoping yours was so I could compare them to see if any of mine are proofs. Didn't mean to devalue you find in any way. :(

Nonetheless, the 73 S is a fine specimen. Sadly, the 2000 WAM looks like it was at the bottom of the pickle jar, but an exciting find too. And you can't go wrong with an old LWC find. Productive jar!

Nice finds, I haven't come across a 200 WAM yet.
