I'm still ok to go as of this morning. Haven't been to a coin show since I was a senior in HS, 32 years ago. Looking forward to seeing what's available now that I'm back in the game, and possibly meeting some CCF'ers...

Well now, this informal group meeting of the CCF is taking shape!

So far we have:
matthewvincent
duncanbishop24
jderm
paddy murphy

jderm, I have never been, so thanks to bobby131313 the handouts for the kids should earn us credentials.
Paddy, don't cross your wife for the next two days and she may just give you her final blessing.

I would suggest that, upon arrival, you ask for the location of Brad Kosnoff's table.
Brad's Coins of Wallingford.
Tell him that Matthew Student directed you to his table.
He won't mind as long as we do not interfere with any ongoing negotiations.
If I am not there he will point me out to you.
Patronize him if he has what you seek.
The bottom line is that dealers PAY to be present and we are coming as poor country cousins. Thus my concern that we keep things very low key.

To identify me here are a few pictures:

My poker face:

"Just what has caught Matthew's interest?"

Bring a camera if you have one for a group photo to be posted on the CCF site.
I do not have one.

Looking forward to meeting you all.
Southern New England Rules!
The first CCF regional outreach that I know of.

Well that was fun.

4 Barber dimes and a 28-D Buffalo get the strike-through treatment on my want-list page.

5 Canadian large cents I needed for $4 and a 1829 large Cent I'll post for grading later.

I just might stay with this hobby...

I picked up some VERY nice coins including my 1st Pittman coin :)... Matthew sorry I missed you, I stopped by your friend Brad's booth, but he couldn't seem to find you, he directed me to look for a guy in brown leather jacket but I think you may have left already...

Well, just got home from Willimantic.
Met up with duncanbishop24 and paddy murphy.
Although a bit overwhelmed Duncan soon became more confident and I let him loose
on Brad's Indian Head cents and Jefferson nickels.
The show was well attended and 5 or 6 dealers were turned away because all the table
spaces had been sold.
Found an upgrade for a Barber dime. With both cash and trade I didn't pay a cent.
How come?
Well, I was feeling lucky and bought three raffle tickets for $5. I won the first
drawing and had first pick of the prizes. I opted for a $50 bill.
Net profit, $45.
Not too shabby at all.
jdmern, sorry to have missed you. A VERY nice show!
Show organizer was pleased with the CCF handout packets.
He will share them with a gentleman in Massachusetts who hosts
a kids forum on coins next month.
As promised, the CCF name is spreading throughout New England.
And I get the feeling that we CCF members have made a positive
impression on the Mansfield CT coin club.

Duncan, the best deal for the 1950-D nickel would have set you back $15 dollars.

A very productive day, but time to crash now. Up since 5AM!
