I picked this one up a few years ago in an uncleaned lot of Greek coins. But I've never been able to ID it. Any help or guesses would be appreciated! The obverse seems to have a horse running to the right. And the Reverse features a square with dots on the inside and a few outside along each side of the square. Also, it's quite a small coin - Here's an image of its diminutive proportions that is more dramatic than just juxtaposing it by a US penny.

Possibly a Celtic imitative type?

Bob L- That would be awesome if it were! It does seem rather crude, and it features a running horse, which seems to be a common Celtic motif.

I have a few of those in my collection, but while similar yours doesn't seem to match.

echizento- you don't think that mine could be an imitation of one of these in which the lettering was replaced with dots by an illiterate Germanic or Celtic individual?

i couldn't remember what it was, but I thought it looked like the one "grapes" on the reverse, it is very similar isn't it? those coins are small also, about 15 mm.

chrsmat71- Do you have a link to the type of coin you are referring to?
Also, my coin is about 10mm.

chrsmat71- So could my coin be real, but just as a 'dot' or 'circle' variety that lacks lettering? Or is my coin necessarily imitative?

I guess it's possible that it's an imitation of the same coin. The ones I have are in the 15mm range.
